System Requirements

Big Interview is designed to work seamlessly on a wide variety of devices and browsers.


Quick Checklist


  1. Browser: Google Chrome (preferred) or Mozilla Firefox (latest version)
  2. Do not use Safari — it is not compatible with Big Interview
  3. Operating System: Windows 10 or later | macOS 10.15 or later | Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 or later)
  4. Internet Speed: Minimum 3 Mbps download/upload | Recommended 10 Mbps or higher
  5. Hardware: Webcam (720p or higher) | Microphone | Speakers or Headphones | 4 GB RAM minimum


Suggested Browsers

For the best experience, use one of the following:

  • Google Chrome (preferred)
  • Mozilla Firefox


✅ Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version.

Do not use Safari, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, or other browsers. These may cause issues with recording video or audio.


Operating Systems

Big Interview is compatible with:

  • Windows: 10 or later
  • macOS: 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  • Linux: Ubuntu 18.04+ and other modern distributions (some video features may vary)


Mobile App Compatibility

Big Interview is available as a mobile app for both iOS and Android.

  • Download: Available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
  • The mobile app includes core features like Practice Interviews and Lessons.
  • The mobile app currently does not support Assignments that include lessons or resume functionality.


Internet Connection

A strong and stable internet connection is essential for recording and uploading videos.

  • Minimum Speeds: 3 Mbps download and upload
  • Recommended Speeds: 10 Mbps or higher for smooth video performance
  • Use a wired Ethernet connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi for the most reliable connection.

Avoid using public or shared networks that may restrict webcam or microphone permissions.


Hardware Requirements

  • Webcam: Built-in or external
  • Microphone: Built-in or USB external mic/headset for clear audio
  • Speakers / Headphones: Required for audio playback and review


Accessibility

Big Interview supports screen readers and keyboard navigation.

  • Compatible with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver when using Chrome or Firefox
  • Closed captions and transcripts available for video lessons

Known Issues and Tips

  • Safari is not supported. Users may experience blank screens or recording failures.
  • Ad-blockers and VPNs can interfere with video uploads — disable them while using Big Interview.
  • Firewalls or security software on managed devices may block camera/mic permissions. Check with your administrator.
  • Using remote desktop software (e.g., Citrix, VDI, or virtual machines) may cause video issues.


If videos do not record properly, clear browser cache and cookies and try again.
