Resetting Assignment Takes: Students/End Users

Assignments in Big Interview may have “take limits”, which restrict how many times a user can record responses for that assignment.

For Students / End Users

You cannot reset or unsubmit assignments yourself. If you have reached your take limit and need another attempt:

1. Contact your instructor or admin to request a reset.
2. Explain why you need additional takes (for example, a technical issue or a redo request).
3. Contact Chat Support or email support@biginterview.com if you experience a technical error.
4. For Practice (non-assignment) recordings, you can re-record freely or delete older takes from My Videos.

For Admins / Instructors

Only an administrator can reset the takes for an assignment. You can reset a user’s takes by following these steps:

1. Open the assignment in your Admin or Instructor view.
2. Locate the student’s submission under In Progress by User.
3. Select Reset User Takes.
4. Important Note: Resetting takes only clears the recording attempts for those specific questions, allowing the student to re-record. It does not erase the student's overall progress or other completed parts of the assignment that do not require a reset.

Note: It is up to the instructor to decide whether or not to allow additional takes. Chat Support may reset takes only in the event of a verified technical issue (such as a failed upload or system error).
