Can AI-generated cover letters be flagged or rejected by employers?

This is a problem the entire industry is grappling with at the moment.

The truth is, there are no reliable tools for detecting AI-generated content, especially in the context of resumes or cover letters.

As our Head of Development put it: “It’s like flipping a coin, 50% of the time, they’re wrong.”

Many of the tools used to “check for AI” are actually built by AI, and they often misfire, flagging human-written content as AI-generated and vice versa. This issue isn’t limited to the job search space. We’re seeing it across industries, from academic writing to journalism and even content marketing, where these detectors regularly produce false positives and false negatives.

That’s why our approach isn’t to hide or over-optimize for AI detection. With our tools, we aim to generate content that’s genuinely aligned with the candidate’s real experience and the job at hand. The end result is a professional, relevant, and editable draft that sounds human and feels authentic, because it is.

The user always has full control to tweak the tone and content to make it sound like them.
