# Resetting Assignment Takes: Students/End Users

Assignments in Big Interview may have “**take limits”**, which restrict how many times a user can record responses for that assignment.

### **For Students / End Users**
You cannot reset or unsubmit assignments yourself. If you have reached your take limit and need another attempt:

1. Contact your **instructor or admin** to request a reset.
2. Explain why you need additional takes (for example, a technical issue or a redo request).
3. Contact Chat Support or email support@biginterview.com if you experience a technical error.
4. For **Practice (non-assignment)** recordings, you can re-record freely or delete older takes from **My Videos**.

### **For Admins / Instructors**
Only an administrator can reset the takes for an assignment. You can reset a user’s takes by following these steps:

1. Open the **assignment** in your **Admin** or **Instructor** view.
2. Locate the student’s submission under **In Progress by User**.
3. Select **Reset User Takes**.
4. **Important Note:** Resetting takes only clears the recording attempts for those specific questions, allowing the student to re-record. **It does not erase the student's overall progress** or other completed parts of the assignment that do not require a reset.

**Note:** It is up to the instructor to decide whether or not to allow additional takes. Chat Support may reset takes only in the event of a verified technical issue (such as a failed upload or system error).
