Big Resume - Platform Overview

Once you log in to Big Interview, you’ll see separate areas for Big Interview and Big Resume.

lick on Big Resume to access video lessons, the Resume Builder, ResumeAI scanner, and Cover Letter Generator.

Below, you’ll find a quick overview of what each tool does and how to get started.

Big Resume Dashboard

The Big Resume dashboard is your home base. This is where you’ll see any resumes you’re currently working on, so you can jump back in without starting from scratch. You can also track your progress through the resume video lessons and pick up right where you left off. If you’ve run any ResumeAI scans recently, you’ll find your latest results here too.

Everything you’re actively using lives in one spot, so it’s easy to stay organized and keep moving forward.

Resume Area

Inside the Resume section, you’ll find all the tools that help you learn, build, and organize your resume in one place.

Resume Curriculum

This is where all the resume lessons live. You can browse the full library, watch lessons in any order, and track your progress as you go.

Resume Builder

Use this space to create or edit your resume. Everything is guided and saved automatically, so you can come back anytime and pick up where you left off.

Resume Templates

If your school or organization requires a specific resume format, you’ll find their approved templates here. Just choose the one you need and start building from it.

Scan Area

This is where you’ll find all the ResumeAI scanning tools to help you check and improve your resume.

ResumeAI

ResumeAI is our scanner that uses smart AI to give your resume a score (bronze, silver, or gold medal) based on how well it performs. It evaluates 4 main areas of a resume: 1) Readability 2) Credibility 3) Format 4) ATS fit.

Click on Scan > ResumeAI > Scan My Resume Now.

If you’re using ResumeAI through your school or government, a window will appear asking you to select a scoring guide or join by code that was sent to you. Select a scoring guide by choosing it from the dropdown menu, or paste the code in the dedicated field. If you’re using ResumeAI on your own, you won’t need to do this step.

Then, upload your resume or choose it from the library if it’s already stored in our platform

Click Scan Resume.

You will have to wait for a while for your resume to be checked and your feedback generated. Once it’s ready, it will appear at the top of the page:

Click on View Feedback to open it.

Your grade will appear, along with the four criteria and details on how your resume did on each one.

Click Detailed Feedback next to your grade at the top right, and a window will appear with detailed feedback on all the areas that can be improved, along with tips on how to improve them.

In the menu on the far left, you will see “Action Items” list containing different elements (Summary statement, spelling, etc.), and the elements that need work will be marked with a red exclamation mark.

You can toggle between the four main criteria we grade in the bar above.

Although your resume will appear on the right side of the screen, you won’t be able to make the changes straight in it — you will have to exit the ResumeAI, go back to the Resume Builder, make the changes, and scan again if needed.

My Scans

This is where you’ll find all the resumes you’ve scanned recently. You can:

  • View your most recent feedback and overall medal score.
  • Dive into detailed feedback for each category (readability, credibility, format, ATS).
  • Delete resumes.

Cover Letters Area

This is where you’ll manage all your cover letters in one place. You can create new ones using the Cover Letter Generator and access any cover letters you’ve already made.

Cover Letter Generator

Use this tool to automatically generate a tailored cover letter based on your resume and the job ad you’re applying for. It gives you a solid starting point that you can then tweak to match your voice and experience.

Click on Cover Letter > Generate Cover Letter > Generate a Cover Letter

Step 1 will be adding a job description of the job you’re applying for. If you don’t have one, you can choose from our library of pre-made job description templates.

Step 2 will be to add your resume. Even though this is optional, we highly recommend that you do it, as it is the best way for the Cover Letter Generator to pick up on details from your resume, experience, and skills and present you in the best way possible.

Once you do that, click on Generate

Wait a few seconds until your cover letter is generated.

Your cover letter will appear. At the top, there will be a small bar where you can suggest changes. Once you do that, click on Regenerate, and your cover letter will be rewritten based on your feedback and suggestions.

We highly encourage you not to copy and paste the cover letter fully; take your time to carefully read through it and make the changes where appropriate. You can delete certain paragraphs, add new ones, change vocabulary or phrasing, or punctuation.

Bear in mind you won’t be able to do this straight in the platform, so the best way to move forward would be to copy-paste it to a Word or Google Doc file and make tweaks there.

Once it’s ready, you can turn it into a PDF and send it along with your resume.

My Cover Letters

Here you can view, edit, or download as .pdf or .doc files the cover letters you’ve created previously. It’s a convenient way to keep all your applications organized and ready to send.

Just click on the three dots next to the cover letter name, and a drop-down menu with different options will appear.

nd that's it! You've successfully downloaded your cover letter.
