Your camera and microphone choices will be a function of what browser you're using, and whether or not it supports HTML5 and/or Adobe Flash.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GOOGLE CHROME & FIREFOX BROWSERS:
When you visit our mock interview practice area in Google Chrome and Firefox, you will likely be prompted in your browser to permit Big Interview to access your webcam and microphone.
That alert may look something like this:
If you then need to change your camera or mic settings, click on the gear icon in the lower left corner of the recording area.
From here you can choose the camera and mic you would like to use. You can also choose to record audio-only.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INTERNET EXPLORER OR SAFARI USERS:
We typically recommend using Chrome for recording since it uses HTML5, and it's the easiest and most reliable recording option.
If using Internet Explorer or Safari, your options will likely be limited to recording via Adobe Flash. It's pefectly fine, but a bit less reliable.
If you're in the mock interview screen (and it doesn't support HTML5), you might see something like:
You can then click "Enable Adobe F;ash Video Recording", or click the slider toggling from HTML5 to Flash.
Your screen will then look like this (see below), and you'll want to click "Allow" in the Flash plugin permission box, and you should be ready to start recording.
